Bug#1081934: override: cron:admin/optional
(too old to reply)

Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: ***@packages.debian.org
Usertags: override
X-Debbugs-Cc: ***@packages.debian.org, debian-***@lists.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:cron

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

cron is still at Priority:important even though Lintian has long warned that packages should migrate to systemd timers before the next Debian release.

I therefore propose downgrading cron to Priority:optional and updating the override to match.

Exception: the Hurd port doesn't have systemd and still depends on traditional cron jobs. cron should therefore remain at Priority:important, but on Hurd only.

Best Regards,
Martin-Éric

warned that packages should migrate to systemd timers before the next
Debian release.
I'm not seeing any research showing that that happened

the override to match.

 so that looks premature?

Cc-ing debian-hurd@ for that part.
